Sharing our approach as a model for others throughout the community of people with special needs
For over 20 years Adam’s Camp has continually increased the number and type of programs at Snow Mountain Ranch to accommodate the growing number of families and campers wanting to attend. This growth of the Colorado programs has been exciting and rewarding, yet we know we are barely scratching the surface of kids with special needs who we believe would greatly benefit from the program.
At the same time, there have been many supporters who have held the strong conviction that Adam’s Camp needed to be replicated in other parts of the country. Realizing this need, the Adam’s Camp Leadership amended the Vision Statement in 2006 to include sharing our approach as a model for others throughout the community of people with special needs.
In 2007 Adam’s Camp began working with Max and Pat Goode, long time Adam’s Campers, to establish Adam’s Camp Nantucket in conjunction with Nantucket S.T.A.R. (Sports & Therapeutic Accessible Recreation), a nonprofit program for kids with special needs Max established on Nantucket in 2003.
Through Max and Pat’s hard and diligent work, the first programs are targeted to take place in the summer of 2008.
An exciting beginning step for Adam’s Camp Outreach.
